Can you get hand controllers for the DK2

As the title says can you get hand controllers for the DK2? thinking of buying one but want to know the future support does it or will it support hand controllers for VR games? I only really want it for Elite for now but can't justify £900-£1000 for a VR headset when the rift is easily £300 on eBay.

No, and it's unsupported by Oculus now, so it's unlikely that any future Touch controllers released for CV1 will support DK2.

There are a few third party solutions like Leap Motion though https://www.leapmotion.com/product/vr

Leap Motion isn't really a hand controller like the Touch. It puts your hands in VR. It's really pretty neat, but there isn't a lot of support for it. Just a bunch of tech demos. Fly Inside for FSX supports it, so you can toggle switches and such in the cockpit. Also Alt Space VR gives your avatar hands.

That said, Sixense makes the Stem controllers, which are wireless, non-optical hand controllers. I have no idea how much support they have.

A DK2 might only work for 6-9 months, as it's officially 'unsupported' by Oculus now ( even though it runs CV1 games, etc... just fine ) and it's rumoured they'll stop supporting it entirely at the end of this year.

If you don't want to pay the £530 for a Rift CV1, plus say another £100-£200 for the Touch controllers when they're released, then your best bet might be Razer's OSVR headset.

It's £270 iirc and it does work with Elite & SteamVR, although there are a few issues.

Atm it's even more of a dev kit than the DK2 was/is, so could require a lot of tinkering to set it up.

Best bet is to read the OSVR Reddit & go through the Elite Dangerous threads already there to get an idea of the current situation.
