Can you lose the Sirius permit?

It seems like a dumb question, but I'm sure I did the Sothis/Ceo thing specifically to get the permit, and now when I 'Google' it in navigation, I'm told a permit is required?

Similarly, I recall getting an invitation from Palin not long after starting the game, which prompted a trip to Maia, but he's not mentioned in 'Engineers', and it seems now that I'd have to have Marco Qwent unlocked, which I don't yet, because I haven't got the Sirius permit.

I'm wondering if Fdev changed the requirements, and a permit can be revoked if you don't keep 'earning' it, like rank or faction status.

Or maybe I'm just going gaga...

Palin requires an exploration flight some 5000 ly beyond your original starting point. Maia is not far enough for that !

Once earned, permits stay in your list, regardless of rep or influence. Also, you don’t lose rank.

Are you trolling, or just gaga? :)

Jury's still out on the latter, but I didn't mean I travelled to Maia to make the distance, but because that's where Palin was supposed to be at the time (which is going back two years, perhaps more). Now I'm vague on the details, but it's possible that having travelled there without finding out what his requirements were, I then said 'Zod that', and returned. I may even have gone to Maia without realising I needed an intro first (there was a bit of Thargoid grief going on at the time there, I think). But getting a message from him is a distinct memory.

If he's moved, then other things could have changed, couldn't they? Yes, I did use Sothis/Ceo for Federation rank to get the Corvette. Maybe the Sirius permit was part of a CG reward that I thought I earned, but didn't?

1) Do you have the permit? if not
2) Are you allied to Sirius? if you are then
3) Do you get an offer of the permit when you go somewhere like Procyon (try a few), with 15ly of Sirius, if not then
4) File a customer support ticket and ask them what you messed up

I was in your same boat too. You have to go to a Sirius "Core System" to get the actual permit from Sirius Corp. Cause I mean, what would ED be without a travel requirement for no reason.

Sirius Corporation maintains a presence in a number of Core Systems.



You can get the permit from any of these systems I believe.

Well, you have to travel to Sirius anyway to use the permit, so picking it up from a neighbouring system isn't going to slow you down much.

It'd be way more annoying the other way round, if you could only get the permit in Sothis/Ceos. :)
