Had a viewer/friend join me for one and I noticed a distinct lack of a SHARE button on the mission, thinking maybe I didn't have to share them I hoped it would happen automatically but nothing on turn in, that's majorly disappointing if multicrew is ONLY useful for bounty hunting. Did the mission fail to acknowledge the multicrew nature of the ship at the time when I got it?
Can you NOT do ferrying with multicrew?

Company, someone to talk to and share the rewards of the time, have you not done any multicrew things? It's a lot of fun, sad they only half it in the sense of activities to do with it.

It is a shame, that Multicrew is so limited. FDev's explanation regarding the missions was, that they didn't want to change the initial mission template and rather add new ones like the missions for Wings. Maybe they "kinda forgot about" Multicrew though, or MC hasn't been used enough so it wasn't worth their time.
You're talking about MP. Multicrew is when people have roles on one vessel and filling those results in potentially unlocking the whole potential. ED multicrew is not really that.
You could argue that they were there ready to be SLF pilot / gunner if the passenger had anyone coming after them?
They never implemented wing passenger missions I think.
Though really, they shouldn't have made "Wing missions" just allowed any mission to be shared with a wing/crew.
If they were going to make "wing missions" they should have been entirely new missions - not the same ones with a wing tag.
