Can you please add multicrew to the game?

I remember that the release of multicrew got announced, but i cant see that its rly implemented right now. (half year later)
Actually theres something like a pre alpha demo version of multicrew.

Does it get implemented someday, or was it a scam to sell more copies?

If flying with the ship would have been that well implemented, then we could only fly straight forward in a flat 2d universe, with no graphics at all.

sadly the current multi-crew system feels very unstable...
I'd love for it to be better but guess the net code for it is still being worked on...
I would have loved to be able to multi crew with my husband

What's in game as off now is MC, if people use it FD will improve it, that was the party line.

Silly me for seeing a chicken and egg dilemma here.

"Here's a barebones and buggy multicrew implementation. Complete with pretentious 'risk vs. reward' payout gimping, making it completely unattractive vs. a fully paying wing. We'll improve it if it turns out to be popular." "We want to play multicrew, but the 2.3 implementation is barebones, buggy and frankly unattractive beyond the novelty. We can't even have crewmembers in SRVs fro Christ's sake!"

Edit: Multicrew was my most anticipated addition of the Horizons season. It should've been the perfect way to team up with less playing friends without having to watch the mandatory half hour of pretentious system transitions and hitting "J" a lot. Even with the limited combat roles and lack of any mission content for multicrews, we might've still played and enjoyed it a lot by having two crewmembers in fighters. But then there was the pretentious payout gimping and frankly, as sorry as I am for the Frontier devs who've worked hard to add this multicrew implementation to the game, I never even bothered to try and get the friends back into the game to crew up.

  • Less compelling than driving your own ship, because of very limited combat functionality (turrets or snub fighters). The whole ship control game mechanic in Elite is designed for a single pilot controlling all of the ship's functions. Multicrew either takes that players DPS output away (turrets) or outright puts crewmembers in fighters. That's not really a satisfying way to design a game mechanic from the ground up for multiple players controlling a ship together. More of a tacked on workaround, really.
  • Gimped pretentious "risk vs. reward" payouts, hurting those people most, who don't play Elite for a second job but still want to progress.
  • No real multicrew game mechanics for anything but combat. No missions, no supercruise functionality, no trading functionality, no SRV control.
  • Buggy to boot.

Really, the arguments aren't the most compelling.
