Can you really not map throttle decrease/increase to triggers? I Ran out of time on trial and spent most of the time messing with controls. I saw I could put my fire buttons to my bumpers (RB/LB) but I could not move my throttles off the bumpers and onto the triggers. Please tell me you can on the bought version?

Yes, analogue triggers work really well for ED throttle. I changed to shoulder bumpers for firing due to years of racing games... which is probably why I warp into the stations through the [] and then slam on the anchors at the landing pad. :D

So you can? I'm the trial I was not able to.....

I felt the same way, hated the throttle on bumpers, but after a couple days I did get used to it. I'm sure everything will be remappable eventually.

Ah sorry for any confusion - I do use an XBox One Pad that works great for throttle as above, but I play via the pc version. I had not realised it was an XB1 version issue. Seems silly you can't remap the pad, so i'd keep the faith in FDEV that you'll be able to eventually like on PC version.
