CQC Can you setup friends-only matched?

If I want to play with a group of Steam friends only, is this possible in CQC or are you forced to always play public matches?

Unfortunately private matches aren't currently supported.

If you form a wing / squad, CQC will try to put you in the same games though (and on the same team for team deathmatch and CTF).

That's a shame. I've got some Steam friends that have the game but they've pretty much bored of the regular game, and I was hoping to get them into some private CQC sessions which don't require much time investment.

I hope they do add this option soon.

I would love to have the opportunity to laser you without having to feel bad about destroying your ship. :)

That's why Frontier ought to add this feature..
I'm sure loads of us out here would love to engage in battles with our friends - you know, people we actually know from the forums or wherever, for the sake of friendly competition.
Yeah, sure, currently we can do that in the regular game, but at the risk of great expense, considering insurance costs for replacing a destroyed ship.

I'll say it straight up - the way CQC is right now sucks. I've tried to get into matches, but my gaming time is valuable to me and I'm not going to sit around waiting indefinitely for a match, and I think if it's going to have any real success, the ability for private PvP needs to be added.

i thought that maybe if you formed a squad of 8 it should be possible .

As someone with no friends , it sucks to join a game , kill them and then a whole squad leaves . i want the right to hunt them down interdiction style and kill them more .

To say cqc sucks because it does not suit you is nuts . if i listed and moaned about everything that did not go my way , you would be as bored as i am right now with it .

I'm not saying it sucks because it doesn't suit me, I'm saying it sucks because... well I'm not sure because I've not yet been able to join a match since I have more interesting things to do than just sit there waiting and wondering what's going on... if anything at all is going on.

But regardless, I got sidetracked there and my opinion of whether it sucks isn't the point. The point is, it would be great if we could arrange private PvP matches with one or more friends.

Why not you and your friends join in with everyone else? You still get to play together usually and you might make new friends. All the people on my ED friend list, except one, are from CQC
