so.. me and my friend were waiting on our new buddy form get to the starting area ot where we were. and 1 jump away we found 2 systems around (or under) 1 lightyear away.... to make it simple the dots are fused on the gal map so its really close.

so we made a test, and discovered another fact while performing this hough long flight.
first off, you CANNOT fly from one system to another, the distance will count down and you can fly past the system, the game will track it in 3d space but its just a hud marker and no star, the skybox doesn't even change. the system also does not affect your speed, so in theory we were able to keep accelerating and see what the max speed was. PUNNY ENOUGH, the speed is 2001c (times the speed of light). and that far out from the star you can accelerate INSANELY fast, and players moving at such speed ot anyone slightly under are relatively invisible. while on this space oddessy i ran a number of drop out tests.. first with double tap then with cutting power to fsd/ thrusters and its good to note that going 2000 times the speed of light only does 8% damage to hull and modules instead of the usual 2... so that needs to be fixed. GOOD NEWS is this takes less fuel then jumping and DOES calculate the distance to the system 100mt (but not really there) correctly.... to and we were having issues jumping to said systema dnc ountend jump back so we had to jump to a 3rd system to continue about our day.
maybe some 'halfway point' where it force drops you out (taking damage of course) and instead of escape vector you get 2 jump points when re-engaging frame shift.... the 'escape vector' to go to the nearest system, and the 're entry vector. to go back....
