Cannons best engineered Mods

Hello CMDRs,

I have been thinking for a while to play around with cannons, and i am very undecided about which mods would work best for this underrated weapons.

What do you guys thinks about it? You have any experience with them and which mods combos work best?

Regular cannons or fragment cannons?
 
Long Range mod makes the shell have a higher velocity - it moves faster.

Helpful for those of us with poor aim. The Cannon is best for module sniping.
 
Long range is all I use on them. Doubling the shot speed opens up a lot of opportunities to land shots that would otherwise miss. If you are close range brawling sort of pilot then overcharge can work too. Be warned though, force shell effect slows the projectile back down so if you only apply it to a single cannon, it will be out of sync with the others.
 
Personally I quite like a mix of high-yield shells and dispersal field. The high-yield shells causes your cannon to cause some explosive damage to the target, which is great for blowing apart modules. The dispersal fields disturbs gimbals and turrets.
 
I put some forceshells on my fas, they were highyield before. Its quite fun and it feels like they buffed the forceshell effect.

S2 cannons with forceshell makes them 876ms, perfect combo to use with PA/APA (875ms)
 
Overcharged + force shell is my current favourite seeing large ships go backward or get thrown into an asteroid never gets old :), the high yield shell was way overpowered I had Condas exploding with 30% hull left due to the internal damage but I do think they overdid the nerf a little.
