Cannot accept missions I should be able to...

Right now I'm @ Romanek's Folly. I just jumped from Dahan.

There's a simple cargo mission (which is about all I can handle in my lame ass Sidewinder) to Dahan.

It won't let me accept the mission because it says it's too far.

*** am I supposed to do rather than simply trade on my own? There's been a LOT of this where I should have been able to make some good money doing a simple task, clearly meant for noobs and I'm unable to accept the mission.

In fact, one of the missions listed at Dahan was for Morgor/Romanek's Folly. I could easily have just collected like $1500cr, but it has "Morgor" highlighted in RED.

This is kind of frustrating. Starting with a ship that has basically no armor and guns that might as well be hot dogs, now I'm left to trading commodities to try to make my ship able to survive being looked at with a mean face.

I'd like to do a real mission, but almost all of them I could possibly do without getting killed instantly won't allow me to accept.

**edit** Here's a screeny of what I'm seeing. Oh the irony: http://imgur.com/CGXrbZg

I agree that range shouldn't be a factor in if you can accept it, especially when they give plenty of time. So what that you have to make a refueling stop? Certainly someone has put a ticket in, it doesn't make sense, and I'm sure it's just because this is the first pass of the missions coding.

Range isn't checking whether you have the fuel, it's checking that the largest jump you'll have to make is possible in the ship you're in - that's down to overall ship mass (including the cargo you're being asked to transport (if any)) and the performance of your ship's FSD.

I agree that this appears bugged though, normally if you're being refused a mission, the reason for refusal is also shown in red.

Actually, may have figured this out. I refueled and it let me take a mission that was red-ed out previously; it also affected my jump distance.

It also appears that the amount of what you have in cargo can affect this.

It's also not whether or not you can jump directly, as I just completed two missions in a row that required at least 2 jumps each.

I'm not sure if it's a bug or a stats requirement I'm just not aware of.

Did you have any other cargo? If you have a full cargo hold, you can't accept any more cargo and can't take the mission.

If you're really stuck ticket it, it's exactly the sort of thing we're supposed to be finding!
