Cannot dock at Station becuase Station doesn't exist on Radar!

Basically all of the stations in the system of LHS 2884 are targetable from supercruise but when I drop into them they do not exist in my contacts nor on my radar. Not the station, not the security patrol ships circling it, nothing is on my radar. I cannot request docking because I cannot target the station.

I've got combat bonds to hand in but I cannot hand them in because I cannot dock, because I cannot target the station, because the station does not exist on my radar or in my contacts tab. Has this bug been reported yet or am I the first?

Here's some lovely pics of what a splendid experience ED is at the moment:

Ok, this happened to me once, and it turns it I had recently gone over my power plant limit, and my sensors had been turned off. Check your modules. Was a real face palm moment for me.

If not, not sure what to say.

if you can visually see the station, but can't target it, sensors would be my bet, too .... maybe you turned them off by accident, changing power priorities, or they got damage? in th last case: reboot/repair.

Yup, sensors, if they are damaged hit the reboot and repair and hope (right hand panel, last tab, bottom of list). May take a few tries though.

This definitely sounds like sensors not working. Make sure your sensors are not damaged and powered on. From those screenshots it looks like your ship is damaged so it's possible either your sensors or powerplant are out. Try doing a reboot / repair in right panel.

If nothing helps but you are able to land elsewhere, look for low security systems to dock - they now have an option under contacts to turn in bounties and combat bonds from anywhere in the galaxy, at 25% reduced payout.

Thanks guys. Will try a repair and reboot. I visited 3 different systems and not only can I not target station for docking my radar also isn't picking up any ship traffic even though I can clearly see ships in supercruise all over the place.

I would say as other above that sensors are damaged too much or turned off. You can see ships in your screen shot but they don't show up on radar either. I have never seen bug that would have caused something you see and every time some one has this problem their sensors have been offline/destroyed. But if it your sensors are powered and aren't destroyed fill in bug report.

Boy don't I feel stupid. Yep, twas my radar malfunctioning. Reboot and repair and a swift kick with a sledge hammer and voila! I can communicate with the galaxy again.

Thanks for the help guys, would have made a magnificient idiot of myself had I posted this in the bugs section. They would have built a monument in my honour where all the children point and laugh and say, "Look mommy! There goes Martian Successor, the *dashingly handsome* village idiot." :p

Yeah, it happens so rarely that most don't know that it can happen. To be fair the game doesn't say that you need sensors to contact station and messages work just fine without them.

Have some rep dude! I just learned the exact same lesson. I just didn't have to post a question after reading this post. Thanks!

I had a moment the other day when I fitted a power plant that was too small, after requesting launch I tried to take off and my thrusters went offline.

The timer is counting down and I have to leave the station before they kill me for loitering, so I turn my sensors off and drives are back online, I managed to leave the station.

But life support is still off and ticking, Yeah, I got loads of time, but I'm getting a bit panicky. I need to dock to get a bigger powerplant, but I can't because the sensors are now offline.

Turn one on, the other goes off. Thrusters or Sensors. Anyway eventually got it all balanced, with both online, but I thought this was going to be one of the daftest rebuys ever.

Been there, done that, maybe we should start a Society - the Sens(or)less Society

At least your post will be useful when people google for the problem. Your very well chosen title will help with that. That deserves +1

My Doh moment occurred yesterday when I landed on planet with my Asp exploration rigged (i.e. under-powered) to look for some jumponium and turned on the SRV hanger. I rolled along my merry way until I got a message from the computer telling me my mothership's shields were down!

OMG! I'm being attacked! no. no not at all. The computer had turned on my Asps engines thereby overloading the power plant and shutting EVERYTHING down. I returned to my ship to find it slid down a shallow hill and sustained a small amount of hull damage. I also discovered that you cannot interupt the takeoff sequence! I couldn't get into my ship!

I hoped (in vain) that because the ship was on the ground I could log out and it would still be on the ground... no... it was in space. I recalled my poor doomed Asp and watched it fall slowly to its doom. It hit the ground, gently, and rolled over where it promptly exploded.

Alone... Approximately 5000 ly from Sol, far above the galactic disk.

Lesson: always adjust your power priority settings so you're thrusters will always work before you leave the space station.

Ouch... But for future reference log into non horizons elite and you will be in your ship in orbit.
