Cannot dock

Hi guys,

new to the game, I am outside dahan station, I have requested docking and it is granted, but there is no docking entrance to the station, no adverts, nothing, what is going on? Am I missing something, being a noob and all I am probably doing something wrong

The station rotates on its axis, the entrance is in the face that is rotating Anti-Clockwise.

Sorry to ask the obvious - are you at the front of the station?

You should be able to see the letterbox on the little mini-version of it in your HUD. Align with that.

every station has an entrance...and only one.

look how the station is spinning.
the entry is on the side that is spinning counter clockwise.

Another way is to look at the holograph of the locked target just left on the front panel. Rotate you ship and watch to see the letterslot passing by on the target. Then try to visualize in you head where it is.

If in doubt, point your ship directly away from the station, fly out to five or ten kilometres and get your bearings. Look for the two station faces that are on the axis of rotation - there's only two faces which are "steady", the other four are spinning dangerously around - and as people say look for the one that is rotating anti-clockwise.

It can also help to look for the little dots of ships moving towards and away from the station - there's usually a few ships in the process of docking or undocking and they'll all be moving near the entrance. You can trust your eyes better than you can trust the cockpit radar.
