Cannot FSS in Nvidia on PS DS4 controller

Well I did it. Transferred PS account to PC.
Got my brand new NVidia Sheild TV Pro and trying ED on Epic.
Works well and looks good BUT working through controller key settings one by one (taking hours) to match as close as possible the PS button presses due to 7000+ hours on PS muscle memory.

So, I got these working to avoid keyboard as much as is possible:
Deploy Hardpoints [square button PS] (X on XBox controller).
Select Target Ahead X (A on XBox)
Supercruise [Triangle] and Down DPad (Y on XBox and Down)
Hyperspace Jump [Triangle] (Y on XBox)
Enable Context Menu ON (for 2 button press allegedly and Supercruise DOES work using these 2 buttons)
Landing Gear L (on Keyboard)

So, I have tried setting FSS to the controller, keyboard and mouse button 1 for FSS and none of them work.
Yes I do get into Supercruise, reduce throttle to 0 to 30km/sec and try FSS and nothing happens (hold button down like on PS4 but it just doesn't get to the tuning screen where you can then Honk.

I know there are some Cmdr's using NVidia Sheild TV or just Geforce now on an old laptop (I tried Geforce Now on mine also with DS4), so anyone solved this issue or have you just given up on FSS?

I've not been using the FSS much since I transferred to PC, but when I first set up my controller configs I reserved one mapping for FSS (it was something like B+RT) and it just worked. Using GFN on laptop with a DS4 (and have since installed DS4Windows to better tweak the controller options).

Are you sure you configured the right mapping and don't have any conflicts? It should be called "Enter FSS Mode" iirc.

For others who read this the FSS default controll IS a Combo used in Super cruse that was added after the console version original released...
in an update the FSS was added... the controlls was never forced on active players as the device never existed so the Default FSS activation was only used by new players only... when it released to players you had to assign it your self to not break your button mapping fdev did not force the FSS button on any one who was allready playing when the new item released in game... the DS4 preset map is so old on PC FSS is still not set still. Geforce now emulales Xbox controller via the Chrome launcher shell so the presets are XBOX controllers

This was a R1/right BUMPER button combined with a face button Y by default... was added to the defaults lay out for new players only after the FSS release... this is the same as default context on the PS4 now

Its a secondary button combo on PC as keyboard remains primary controlls first in the preset , whats realy annoying is that the Share button is used to exit the FSS on xbox controller set up... thats got changed...
I changed mine from default to B HOLD + tap Y to open FSS... which by default will not show on context menu... but as I used hotas its completely different lay out for Geforce now... on Hotas it was throttle rear bottom button + L3... lol

FfWcX00X0AIG61T

What button combo were you trying to do...
PS yes thats 4.0 as the 2070 power level given of geforce now has no issues running horizons 4.0 at 60FPS... it has issues loading it quickly but actual gameplay stays 60fps...

It's interesting how many button combos are actually possible that don't show up in the preview when you hold one of the main buttons down. I had so so may different ones on the HOTAS on PS. A pity the on foot controls don't allow that much variability, since you already jump/crouch/whatever as soon as you hold one of the main buttons down. Starting the combo by holding one of the secondary buttons down is iirc possible but I know I'll still lob a grenade at the worst possible moment, so I begrudgingly set a few shortcuts to keyboard only. At least DS4Windows lets you allocate the touchpad "buttons" so I've got a few more options there.

Forgot to reply - sorted it now.
In October went through PS DS4 settings one by bloody one, to set up controller settings on GFN to be same - all OK now.

Thanks to Graphite and pzyko I got <triangle> R1 to enter FSS Mode and further down in Full Spectrum System Scanner settings, set up X to 'Honk' Discovery Scan and O to exit scan exactly as per PS DS4 due to muscle memory (couldn't cope with different buttons/keys depending on PS or PC!).
Have to do this as got 2 FC's now and use PS and PC accounts in different areas/tasks.

Note, also wrote them all down in case I lost them, sometimes if you don't have the wireless controller on or connected when loading ED on GFN, it uses default keyboard and mouse only - yeuch.

After Bruce's nudge about legacy mode I finally transferred my PS4 account this morning, so am also about to have the fun of mapping a DS4 controller to the new world. Is there a trick to getting the Shield TV to recognise the touchpad buttons? When I try to map those in the Elite options screen it doesn't seem to detect anything when I press them.

Can't detect DS4 touchpad - I personally set up my DS4 controller settings on both the PS and PC GeforceNow to (e.g.):
[upper left] previous fire group --> hold down<square>+L1
[lower left] External (Nav) panel --> hold down<square>+left
etc, etc.
so as to move freely between PS and PC versions with same muscle memory, as I still use PS for FC movements/exploration (up til now anyways).

(I will be topping up PS FC balance for several years upkeep as the latest FDev announcement is that any console FC (in EDH Legacy) will (appear to) remain static in EDH Live, even if I move it in EDH Legacy)

EDIT - also see port above to map FSS to DS4, that was the most difficult.

Rats, I really liked the touchpad, I used it for all the useful throttle presets. Oh well, I might make the "share" button do something useful at last.

I just console transferred this morning, so I'll be working my way through the different types of controls over the next couple of days. I tried the FSS and that actually seemed to work first time apart from having no key to exit. One relog and a fresh button mapping later and it seems fine. Found my first rogue signal source!

Thanks for all the pointers by the way - appreciate your efforts for the community.

Yep, miss the touchpad, I have most buttons on DS4 now instead of keyboard/mouse.
I didn't realise I can use Share button, so, if so, that is 12 or more buttons, if it allows holding down share + another button.
I will try to get any remaining keyboard keys onto that combi - great.

DS4Windows lets you configure the touchpad as certain inputs that can then be used in the game again, e.g. the touch x/y value as a relative or absolute mouse, and the left/right/top clicks can also be mapped to any key or mouse button (I use them for throttle presets in space and consumables on foot).

Edit: Most probably not if youre're playing on Shield or the TV app, sorry for the confusion.

Good to know I could set up DS4Windows for my laptop, but as far as I can tell, you can't run apps concurrently on ShieldTV in combination with Geforce Now when running ED (I may be wrong here).
