Newcomer / Intro [Cannot get back my ship - Fighter on foot - HELP please] - real newbie, I know ;-)

EDIT : Problem solved. In fact I very probably inadvertently shot at security forces, so was logically shot by them.
However, I could not play anymore as I could not access any station service.
Totally quitting and closing the game seems to have solved that issue at game relaunch.
To be known in case you encounter the same problem.

Hi CMDRs,

I know you will have good time reading what follow, but well, my fault.
I decided to give a try to combat.
Obviously after some success, I was shot (PVE... I know... newbie).
My viper should have respawn in the system (several stations and my FC as well were there).
In fact, I was respawn 70+ LY from there, with no fine, just obvious insurance costs.
I had no prime or fine on me, nor bad reputation, so I did not commit accidental friendly shot or so, then I do not understand why this respawn occured so far.
So, my Viper cannot not cross those 70+ LY (as you imagine) : no possible routes.
To avoid calling back my FC, I choose taking Interstellar transport service, to reach it.
Could not go to the carrier but on one of the stations of the system I was shot at.
Issue is I cannot access any shipyard service, so I cannot call back the Viper, nor any other of my ships to go and search for it.

Then I am stuck : no ships, no way to get one (even buying a simple utility one - no access to shipyard), no way to call back one...
As a reminder, I did not shot friendly ships at time I was shot (or even before), had no fine nor bounty on me, or what so ever...

So my three questions are :
1. What happened there ? (as I like to understand)
2. Why can't I call back any of my ships, nor find back any track of Serpens (my VMK3)?
3. How could I solve my issue, as I am really stuck there ?

It would help if you told us where you did respawn and where you are now. If it was at a detention center, you most likely had some kind of fine or bounty. If it was at a normal station: Was it the last station you docked at?

Are you at an outpost or a large station? It happens that outposts don't have a shipyard. Go to a large station with a shipyard. When in doubt, check on Inara.cz first.

If everything fails, quit to the main menu and go to help > stuck recovery or something like that.

1. What happened there ? (as I like to understand)

Check your CMDR logs. You can find them as raw JSON/XML files somewhere in the depths of one of your Frontier Developments folders, But I wouldn't bother searching for them and instead install EDDiscovery (there are other utilities like this - it's just that I've been using EDD for almost as long as I've been playing ED). This will parse your logfiles and show them in a friendly format, permitting you to retrace whtever had happened.

Otherwise - yes, it would help to know some more details.

Another, possibly more lightweight and less daunting 3rd party tool is Icarus Terminal. I don't know if the author @Flash Moonboots is still working on it, but it also shows you the contents of the journal and is maybe less overpowered for just that purpose.

Thanks for your hints, however I am still trapped.
I was shot at "Huntics" system.
I respawn at "the panopticon",megaship in "Synuefe BR-L C24-24". 70+ LY from Huntics.
I did check (in case I had made a mistke such as friendly fire - but no...)
Currently I am (through Vista taxis) at "Bartini Gateway", in "Huntics".
Here I have no way to access my FC or any of my ships.
Only options I have are :

• contacts - and no I have no fine or bounty on me.
• and ... bla, bla, bla...

Any way for me to reach my carrier or call any of my ships ?

Really curious about this issue and way to solve it.
BtW : Obviously yes - EDDiscovery is, with Inara, some of the key tools I use.

OK, it goes worst and worst.
I took another cab to an "interstellar factor" point. On a planet.
Hardly found how to enter, but once in, no way to access any call back or service.
Should I just get out, wait for oxygen to miss, then respawn in a normal station ???

Also, to stress it again: To retrieve your ship, you need to dock at or shuttle to a station or ground port that has a shipyard. There is no way around that. Interstellar Factors do not help you retrieve your ship.

As said I am in the "Huntics" system, currently at "A 15 C", at the "Munn Analysis laboratory".
What I do not understand is : what should I do to access call back options or so ???
I guess it's just me missing a point, but I would like to understand which one...

Sorry, I missed that bit. Found you on Inara.

According to your Inara entries, you were destroyed by an NPC and sent to the detention center in Synuefe BR-L c24-24. This only happens when you have a bounty, so you must have done something. I would assume that maybe you attacked a pirate or something first, often they are clean until they shoot at you. Always wait for the NPCs to do the Han Solo.

Munn Analysis laboratory doesn't have a shipyard. Take a taxi to Bartini Gateway, which is a large station with a shipyard, and go to the Inter Astra desk. There you should be able to transfer your ship to that station, and when it has arrived you can take the elevator to your ship's hangar.

Also, check with the IF at Munn Analysis laboratory first if you have any fines or bounties to pay off.

I solved my issue.

So soory I had to commit some kind of suicide, but it worked.

Outside of the land station, I scanned (not fired or harmed any way) an armed authority sentinel.
It was a kind enough sentinel that shot me (thanks for that), and I did not harmed her. Nice experience.

Then I was proposed to join back/respawn at my viper at no cost (and no boutny/prime on my head : I guess sentinel was just nervous, that was the aim of the game on my side).
I'm in again. Full options available again. Will call back my FC this time rather than trying reaching it by Vista and transferring Serpens home.

However if someone have some clue on what happened there, that would be cool.

Our answers crossed themselves.
Back at "Synuefe BR-L c24-24", at "The Panopticon", on board with my viper, I first get to contacts first.
I walked through "Agent Administratif" (I guess administrative agent) yet another time :

• No Bounty on my head.
• No way to surrender for anything as I have no charge against me.

But yes... I cannot access any other option, as if I was guilty of something even if I have no clue about what I should be accountable for...
Still cannot guess what is wrong and how to solve it.
No way to move forward, even if ready to assume anything (?) I should.

So, what the hell here ?

I guess I will open a case at FD.
Cannot play anymore.
If I must pay something ? even if I don't know why, OK for me.
But just being unable to do anything in game.... without knowing why....

Whatever you got a bounty for, you should have paid at your rebuy screen. It should be paid off, so an IF will not show it anymore.

You have a carrier, so you can't be completely green anymore . I guess this is a valuable lesson: Never fly a minimum viable ship without a fuel scoop.

What you can do is still the same: Travel back to the Huntics system via Taxi if your ship doesn't have enough jump range to get you out of the system, go to the Inter Astra desk at Bartini Gateway, transfer your ship. Or any other ship you might have from your carrier. Or call your carrier to the detention system.

Frontier might give you a pass just this once and relocate you, but strictly speaking this isn't really a support case. You're flying a basically bog standard E-rated ship without a fuel scoop and got detained. This happens.

@Helmut Grokenberger : I do not have any more access to any standard map menu, nor systems, neither bodies.
I cannot reach my carrier, cannot reach anything, exccept taking a cab, but even there, no access to my FC or anything else.
All services are disbaled for me, but I have no boutny on me, am totally clean from reputation standpoint (because, wxell... simply said I am clean).
And yes, not a beginner in game. 12 Bcr in stock, a fleet carrier; several ships on board, started to play 9 years ago, did a break, but went back to it 1+ years ago, etc...
Simply said, I did not practiced combat that much so far, and just wanted to give it a try.
Would that mean I would lost all this for something I cannot understand and even worse, I cannot address or solve ?
What the hell !!!
I think there is a bug here.

As ever I don't ask for a pass : If I did a mistake (which one ????) I will pay it, even if I do not understand what it was.
But if I have no way doing so, not being able to play anymore, for no reason, with no way to address the issue... well... back to Skirrim, or ROF so not to loose my HOTA investment.

I wasn't trying to be mean, sorry if it came across that way.

Did you, at any point, do a relog? That might help with a paid off bounty that isn't registering. Exiting to the main menu should do, but you could also restart the game.

And again: If you can take a cab, did you try the Inter Astra at that station in Huntics yet? What happens if you choose the main menu > help > stuck recovery option? That should get you at least back in your ship. What your options are from there depends if your ship can travel at all from where you are.

Simply, being not natural English speaker, I could have misunderstood the mean of my answer.
In fact I am just (a bit) angry about what happens, dplease do not take it personally but lost one of my few vacation days trying to solve this, so now, not so far to have a good sleep.
And yes, obviously, I ever stopped and restarted the game several times. Also updated my Inara profile and checked EDSM as well. My profile is definitely green, no track of bouties on me there (except if I miss a point, but then which one ?).
My windows gaming computer is on sutdown now, this message (like anything not related to gaming only) is sent from my regular Linux desktop.
I will see tomorrow morning...

Understandable. Some quirks the game throws at us can be very frustrating.

Some more random thoughts:

• Last time I was at a detention center, I got out of the cell, went to the elevator, got in my ship and took off. Does that work at all, or is your ship not even present at the detention center?
• If you're in your ship, can you actually travel with it, even if it is cumbersome? Or can you not even jump out of the system?
• If you cannot even access your ship: Try the stuck recovery. It should put you in your ship at the main star of the system you're in.
• Maybe someone can give you a lift quicker than me, but I could jump my carrier over and get you out of there back to your own carrier. Someone could possibly pick you up in-ship (don't know if that works at the detention centers), but physical multicrew is very unreliable, so this solution might suck too.
