Newcomer / Intro Cannot land at any orbitals?

Every time i get to an orbital type station, the ones where you dock outside, i have permission and i try to land at my designated spot but the landing graphics never shows up, i land and nothing happens.

What am I doing wrong?

After cancelling my request, reloading, asking again, cancelling again and requesting for the 3rd time, finally I am able to land... Known bug?

I once observed the assist didn't work when I requested to dock at a station and the platform was currently being raised. I could land, but without assistance, so it took a while. Just aim for the center and point in the right direction.

I have occasionally seen this issue, but not with the frequency you describe. I tend to think it's network load somehow... are you using Open Play mode, or Solo? I do the same thing you have done to correct it - move away (safely out of the station if it's not an orbital platform) and cancel, then re-request permission and retry.

Use ctrl-b to check your bandwidth while you do it and see if your connection is spotty or if you notice a pattern.
