Ships Cannot seem to purchase it....

So according to this "As part of the celebrations for this news it was also announced that all independent pilots with an active rank with the Imperial Navy will be able to purchase the Imperial Courier and Imperial Clipper ships."
I have an active rank in the imperial navy but I cannot seem to purchase it, it says I require serf or higher...either it's contradictory or I have completely missed something :S
How come I cannot purchase it?

I bought clipper two days ago with a rank of knight (it requires baron) with no problem.

My guess the giveaway is over, you missed your chance.

Are you serf or higher though? If so, then that's either a bug or you just missed out on the Courier and Clipper, unless you want to grind to Master/Baron, for each ship.

I guess that you're ranked as "Outsider"? I thought the same so dashed off after selling all my available ships (ended up with 50mil in loose change) only to be told that you need "Serf" or higher rank. Now though, I can't be bothered trying to raise the rank to "Serf" so just pointed my DBS in the opposite direction and jumped away...

I don't think he missed out, as I just bought my Clipper today without issue, and when visiting Systems selling the Clipper it still affords me the opportunity to purchase the ship.

I have a Master ranking with the Empire, but a Rank 4 with Arissa, so I would not otherwise be able to purchase the Clipper but for the PP rating.

Try again my man, maybe the game bugged out on you when you last logged in.

I saw that GalNet message earlier this week, but was unable to acquire a Courier in several of the systems I was at, even though they were for sale. I was a serf rank then and still a serf rank today. For some reason, today I could purchase the courier. It must have been a timing thing. Check it again.
