Cannot start the game from epic

Hi folks,
I was playing the game today fine until noon (12:00 UTC+1) and suddenly got kicked from the server.
I then tried to launch the game again and faced this issue about a missing update (see capture attached)

Since then, i couldn't play the game anymore.

Am i the only one to have the issue ? (couldn't find anyone else with this issue on reddit and so, and some of my friends can play the game again).

(NB : i verified the files on EGS + restarted my computer. Still no update available).

I've been getting the same message for a couple of hours now. I assumed there was an update as the dialog says, but doing what it says produces nothing.

Yep, I tried to create a shortcut that launches the game from the EGS, but it fails saying that I don't own the game (which makes sense, since I got it for free from EGS, I assume I don't have a Key for the game).
But still, I cannot start the game and get the same issue as you have. I'm sure there are a lot of players who face the same issue around there.
 
Same issue already for a week, at the Frontier support window says "Many of our players have bypassed this issue by fully shutting down and restarting their Epic Games launcher, before trying to play Elite again. We are aware of the problem and are working to resolve it as soon as possible. Your patience in this is much appreciated."
I don't really know how to fully Shut down and restart Epic Games, but I think it is to turn off EGS even use a Task Manager but it still the same, guess we need wait until devs will fix that.

Sheesh! A Week? I've been playing nonstop for 2 days with minor issues. But i still got to play. This is new and only started this morning. I hope it gets fixed. I've been wanting to play this for some time now.

It is not new for me for sure after I try to play the game with VR headset, I got some other error message and gave up on fixing it and start to play normaly, then this window shows up with an update required, even that my game on auto update and I did 3 times an vertification of the files, none of this help me, reinstalling game also not a solution, reinstalling EGS also not an option, strange is that my other friends got no issue with a game and playing perfecly fine.
 
I tried to start the game directly from the folder :
C:\Program Files\Epic Games\EliteDangerous\Products\elite-dangerous-64\EliteDangerous64.exe
but get the issue on the capture

I finally found the issue (thx for the help of redditers). I linked my "frontier" account to my "steam" account. Since then, the game crashed and coul'nt be launched anymore. I simply "unlinked" it.
Go to your "frontier" account and check
(see capture)

Hope it's help.

You know, I had my suspicion that this may be the issue. I wasn't really sure if i should unlink it or not, but doing so has the game working now. I'm not linking back until they fix that then. I was really going through withdrawals lol
 
Well that is was a really issue, it helped me and devs post a new message window in Frontier Support "
Many of our players have bypassed this issue by fully shutting down and restarting their Epic Games launcher, before trying to play Elite again. If you have linked your Epic Frontier account to Steam in error, please raise an account unlinking request; Steam linking will block access to your Epic copy of the game.
We are aware of these issues and are working to resolve them as soon as possible. Your patience in this is much appreciated.

J'ai le même problème depuis samedi et je pense que le bug vient quand on lier nos compte a frontier.
