Cannot use System Map/Galaxy Map when charging FSD

I'm not entirely sure that this is a bug, but when i am charging the FSD to jump to another system on the Navigation panel the 'Cancel' (Jump) buton keeps on getting highlighted if i try to select the Galaxy Map or the System Map. When i am out exploring i will often start the FSD and then open the System Map to have a look at what i found or sometimes open the Galaxy map for other reasons. It is not possible to do this now.

It's possible to use hotkeys to open the maps while charging the FSD, but you are correct about the nav pane.

When you hit the jump countdown, the game rips you out of regular gameplay hard, and the maps are more or less separate "game modes"; that "control blackout" is probably more of a safety to try and keep people from breaking the game more than it already is. I haven't tried going through a jump with an open map, but I don't imagine the results are overly pretty?

@Morbad
i'll try setting a key bind to open the system map later. It might be faster than using the menu as well.

@Shadowdancer
I've never noticed anything unusual charging the FSD while looking at the system map. All that happens is that you jump to the countdown in the cockpit.
Actually there is a bug that pops up every now and then that the system map will not open FOREVER. So you need to shut down Elite, unless you are charging the FSD and when you jump to the next system the program recovers.

The map simply closes when the count down is complete.

Before the addition of the , being able to look at the system map while charging was critical for keeping up a pace of ~45 seconds per jump without missing things of particular interest.
