Canon Lore?

As I understand it, much of the original games lore is "questionable" (as in, the Devs have neither confirmed nor denied it is still canon). I didnt see anything in the Stickies (though my wife will be the first to point out I can never find whats right in front of me, lol) so I was wondering if anyone can point me to a source of confirmed Lore (as in lore which has been expressly confirmed either in game or by the Devs as being part of the new E experience)?

I would take the original Elite, both the game and its lore, with a pinch of salt.

One big discrepancy I can't get my head around is how 3300's Elite Dangerous see a new exploration rush with the recent discovery of the Frame Shift Drive…

… Yet you could already travel between 8 galaxies in the original Elite, some hundreds (or thousands?) years ago.

I personally like to see in the original texts and game a way to get an idea of what the mood is, but I rely solely on the latest game and books (i.e. legacy, reclamation, etc…) for official lore.
