Canopies cut in half. Why?

I really don't understand why the canopy integrity for every ship was cut in half. It makes zero sense. This game is set 1300 years in the future, so I find it hard to believe that humanity would have a weak material protecting the bridge and the pilot themselves. In my opinion the canopy integrity should've been strengthened a little, definitely not halved.

Kind of ironic that a nerf to the canopy was done in a 'Quality of Life' update that was focused on beginning players. Nothing says helping beginners like your canopy getting ruptured every time you sneeze. Other than that the update has some pretty cool new features.

Hello everyone,

Firstly, thank you for your reports and your feedback. The canopy used to break when it was at 50% integrity, however, we have fixed this so it correctly breaks at 0% integrity bringing it in line with all the other modules.

Therefore, to maintain the canopy’s current functionality, we halved its integrity. This means that the canopy should be reacting in the same way as before the April Update.
We’ve tested internally and found this to be the case, however, if there are any instances where you are seeing an issue, please let us know.

Have you noticed this is posted in various places? It is not cut in half, previously it broke at 50% damage, the figures have been adjusted for 100%

According to FDEV there was no nerf. Canopies used to break at 50% for some strange reason, which means that integrity of 30 was actually just 15. They fixed it and made canopies break at 0. In the end there is no difference apart from numbers being displayed differently.

Well either way, I have some extra size one module slots now on my Vulture for some mysterious reason. Wouldn't mind a canopy reinforcement module or the like I suppose since adding in a module that restores some functionality to the system map after a honk, like targetable black bodies or such, is looking less likely to materialize, unlike extra empty size one module slots...
