Canopy compromized.

Me and a friend are out exploring and are returning after a trip to the Eagle Nebula. When approaching a start too fast, getting dropped out of Supercruise i hear the message "Canopy compromized" and some of the canopy is cracked. Now, i have had this happen to me before but not 4000 LY away from civilization. I dont have a repair unit...Will i be able to jump some 4000 LY and survive or will the canopy break before i get home?

The canopy will only break if you take more damage, so if you are careful, you can go on as long as you want.

The canopy will only breach if you sustain more damage. Be more cautious and I'm sure you will make it home to sell your data.

your canopy has only taken a minor amount of damage, 25% or so. you should be fine as long as you don't get dropped out like that a few more times

You will be fine as long as you are careful on the rest of your jumps. AFMU cannot repair the canopy.

Thanks alot for all the positive (and extremely fast) feedback. ANd yes, i actually did creep forward abit on my seat. Ill be careful and avoid more damage.

Meh, my canopy has been cracked for nearly 2 weeks, Im still out here sploring and stuff.

You need to wear your seatbelt. When you dropped out of supercruise suddenly, your head cracked the canpoy. If you do that too much, you'll only be suitable for playing Candy Crush.

Give it a thump with the edge of your fist and if it doesn't pop, put some fiberglass tape over it and keep flying. If it does pop, you won't be able to complain.

I'm 14,000ly out (heading home) through a neutron star field and my canopy has been cracked since I threw my beer at it back in SKAUDE sector. I swear I thought I'd found a system with 3 earth-like worlds, but it was just 2 earth-likes and a water world, and I .. threw my beer. Bad move.
