So a few of my friends and I have been thinking about stuff and the topic of canopies came up. What if we had canopy customization? We could have a standard version that is what it is now, a reinforced variant that costs say 10% of your ship's base hull cost and mass, and an armoured variant that costs 20% of the hull costs and mass.
The reinforced could double your canopy's durability, while the armoured variant is unbreakable. Well then, why wouldn't I use the armoured variant on all my combat ships?
The armoured canopy replaces all the glass with armour plating.
How do I see out of my cockpit/bridge? The inside of the now covered canopy has view screens. Only that the screens have the wire frame graphics of the original Elites.
