Canopy damage question

So I've been traveling to Sagittarius A* for a while now, however due to some drunken run-ins with gravity my hull integrity is down to a cool 73%. Most modules are in good shape thanks to my AMU, but my canopy has some pretty righteous web cracks going on. So my question is will these cracks continue to spread, or will it hold if I fly safe and stop getting ripped out of FS.

It will hold if you don't make anymore mistakes. I guess you have to ask yourself, if you haven't even reached Sag A* and your hull is 73%, do you really think you will do another 30000+LY without a mistake?

Most would have turned back at 80% hull

They will hold unless you have "a close encounter of the sun kind" or you drop out of supercruise too fast.

Might be an idea to head back to populated space.

Most of the damage occurred 5k away from the center, I simply can't turn back yet.

I'm only guessing here but I would think you should be OK considering you don't cause yourself more damage.

It would be cool and all to see cracks progress across the screen due to stress on the canopy. But I just don't think the developers have added this level of complexity considering the amount of coding, artwork and bug testing this would need.

ASP canopy can survive until cracks extend and look like this. For me that was about 8 accidents. Anything after and your going to suffer a blow out and loose everything. Do not fly into things and emergency stop :)

If the canopy blows no amount of life support will save you when you're 25,000LY away from home. Also as an advance note any exploration data is lost upon death (like bounties and combat bonds).

I made 16kLY with no mistakes by throttling to 0 during EVERY jump and not alt+tabbing during the loading screens - Never know when that neutron star will pop up

By that point I'd travelled 65kLy and was determined not to loose the data. Took longer but safety was worth it.
Do not approach the black hole ;)

That's exactly what mine looks like. Well 30k light years of mistake free travel sounds like a worthy challenge.

That's 30k to get there, but don't you also need to get back?

Good luck to you. I can understand why you don't want to turn back! Go for it

I'm travelling back from Sag A* with the same cracks in my canopy and 28% health. 20,000ly to get home and I'm confident I'll make it if I'm VERY careful.

I'm jealous, assuming I make it, accounting for the time I have to play, I'm not going to get back to Giguara till next Thursday.
