Newcomer / Intro Can't Complete My Salvage quest

Been doing regular salvage quests, 'Black Box' etc.

I have always responded to the 'alternative delivery destination' messages for the extra bucks you get.

Did just that on my last quest, but when I get to the new destination, I find it's on a planet, but I don't yet have 'Horizons', so I go back to the original destination, but it will not let me complete it?

If I can't complete it, I just don't understand why the game offered an impossible to complete mission alternative? Have I missed something?

No. That sounds buggy as you should not be sent to a planetary base if you don't have Horizons. There's not really anything you will be able to do but abandon the mission.

You should probably submit a support ticket as they may be able to restore any credits lost as a result of not being able to complete the mission and also undo any reputation loss with the factions involved due to it being caused by a bug. Support are very helpful.

It will also make them aware that this bug is happening.

Definitely raise a support ticket, you could also check the bug reporting forums for your platform and add a me too or raise a bug report if you can't find the existing one.

^^^^^^^^^^^^ Wot they said ^^^^^^^^

Raise a support ticket, this is a bug that some people suffer from, do a "lost my stuff" ticket - not a bug report.

Are you sure it's on the planet? I've had a few that are close top the planet. The nav sends you to the planet, then you fly around to get the USS.

He accepted an alternative delivery location which is on a planet. He already salvaged his black boxes by the sound of things. :)

Right hand panel, inventory, cabin options ,iirc,or left panel, transactions.mission discard...it's a bit of a shortcut, but it saves having to wait it out...or...ask Frank!

Hi Blacksy, just to say please do yourself a massive favour and get Horizons asap, especially with update 3.0 happening next week. You're missing out on so much of the game! It's worth the very modest investment and will set you up nicely for all the other goodies the rest of Beyond will bring this year.

op,i think you're doing just fine as you are, unless you only play solo.
i really enjoyed my time on the pc,but when they borked 32bit,it was either either upgrade the 'puter or switch to a fresh platform until a new rig is required. It sounds like you are on a fresher version than mine, which was a pita for all concerned but you shouldn't encounter the same problems.Wednesday nights always fun

The game was a gift from my daughter and I know it cost her £35 at the time. It is now available for £19.99, so having to pay an additional £19.99 in order to get the added benefits seems somewhat unfair.

It may be a modest investment to you but not to a pensioner.

I've fallen victim to that once as I also don't have Horizons. It stung a bit when I realized I had to discard the mission and the cargo. Now I'm in the habit of checking the galactic map to see if that destination is on a planet if I can't recognize the base they're mentioning.

Keep an eye out for sale events - they happen quite often and the reductions are considerable.
