Can't contact station to request docking!

Just returned from a three week exploration trip back to Exphiay and perched 4k from Worlidge Hub but can't contact it to request docking.
I am friendly there and can't see any evidence of a war going on. Curiously, I can see other ships flying around but nothing appears on the radar screen.
I got interdicted once on the way in and didn't see a blip on the screen either! Am I missing something?
Nothing appears on the Contact screen either.

Check the modules in the right-hand panel - your sensors might be disabled.

If you're sensors are broken then you can either wait for 1.2 (when you'll be able to reboot and repair modules) or self destruct.

My friend is in the same boat and has stopped playing til 1.2 is out due to him having a ton of bounties and missions to cash in.

I'd check your modules to se if your sensors have been turned off or destroyed. If they are off it's simple, turn them back on again. If by severe misfortune your sensor have been destroyed, you have two options. If you are really desperate to get on and don't mind losing your 3 weeks of exploration data you can self destruct, BUT if you can wait a few days for !.2 to get general release you wil have the option of cannibalising another system to fix your sensors enough to dock

Just to let you know.......... after holding onto 4 missions (completed) for weeks I've died twice......
Bounties you lose, but completed missions to hand back for rep or rank YOU KEEP THRU DEATH....

Thanks for the help guys. I had turned off the sensor unit during repairs and forgotten to turn it on again.
Three weeks in space addles the brain apparently!

So... what exactly does the sensors do? If you can stay three weeks in space without knowing that they are off? I'd imagine that exploration is very dependant on working sensors. Are they just misnamed comms?

I am not sure on this. My mishap occurred on the way in not too far from Exphiay so I wasn't really scanning much at all. I don't think the sensors have much to do with planetary and star exploration though. I haven't figured out exactly what happened yet. I had just scanned a star and was heading away from it for the next jump. I had the next star targeted and lined up, hit "J" and instead of entering the jump sequence I got the message to hit "J" again for an emergency stop. When the message went away I waited a bit and then hit it again thinking it was safe to jump. Dropped out of cruise drive and got the damage. Is this some sort of bug?
