Can't deliver salvage mission goods, destination is in a CZ and I can't land

So about three days ago, I picked up a mission that was randomly offered to me by an minor faction that I'm allied with. Last night I saw that the timer was running down on it, so this morning I thought I would get it done and out of the way. Everything went smoothly until the time came to deliver the salvaged cargo to the specified destination. The surface settlement is apparently in a conflict zone, and the landing pads are non-functional, I can't even request docking on the left hand panel.

The mission timer is due to run out just after I finish work, and as far as I know there's no way to redirect the delivery. So I'm stuffed, right?

The status of the settlement seems to have changed and it is no longer business as usual there. Checking on the status of the owning faction would have alerted you to a pending war (at least 24 hours notice). I do not think anyone has tried to access the mission boards for a settlement in conflict, and if you have to deliver ship cargo, that needs an active pad.

Yeh I think you are stuffed in this case. At least this happened after you'd waited a couple days, so it sort of makes sense for this type of thing to go wrong for you (shouldn't fail the mission though, imo... they gave you x days to complete it, how is it your fault their own time line breached a change in state?)

But this is Elite so... your fault.

It's still better than the EDO Raid missions that ask you to kill a set number of a faction when said faction only owns one settlement which is abandoned when you arrive, five minutes after taking the mission (so I assume the state didn't change in between). In Elite, entire factions simply disappear if their settlements are abandoned (where do they go?) yet we're told to go kill them anyway. I'd suggest that job was already achieved.

It's a shame, because these missions can be fun when doing them legally (attacking anarchy factions) but, ultimately, are only viable when doing them illegally, because anarchy factions are so limited (and this is partly because of EDO anyway). What should be happening is we should be sent to these to restore them/kill scavengers (which are both fun missions and very limited in supply compared to all other types). I've no idea why this isn't working though.

Having just powered up and looted an abandoned settlement, the terminals give missions still. Strange!.

Just to be clear, this was a mission I was offered through a message, not one I picked up from a mission board. Not sure if that would make any difference.
