Newcomer / Intro cant dock

hello everyone,
this game seems very intersting to me. i think im going to like it very much, however, i have problem thats getting in the way of that happening.
ive done the docking training a few times successfully so i know how to dock.
but when i launch into open or solo play im not able to dock my ship. why is that happening? is that a bug? or am i doing something wrong?

What do you mean by "problem thats getting in the way"? Are you getting "Docking Denied" messages, having trouble identifying the landing pad, or something else?

you mean you dont get the docking target grid come up to put you in the centre?? this is a bug but you can still dock... just have to drop down slowly to where you think centre is... touch down a few times and eventually you get the docking successful...

Keep in mind that you can only successfully dock if your ship is aligned correctly with the platform. On your screen, the ships nose has to show upwards.
