Newcomer / Intro Can't donate Tritium to own carrier depot

Whether I buy it from the local market, steal it from a mission allocation, get it from my FC's own stock, or sell it and buy it through the secure warehouse, I can no longer put Tritium into my own carrier's fuel depot.

Clicking on "confirm deposit" does nothing.

I've relogged, restarted, gone to Holo-Me and back to refresh the inventory view, gone into supercruise multiple times including to an adjacent system, but nothing works.

What am I doing wrong? Or is the game now broken? What will happen when the FC runs out of fuel to jump - will it now be stranded forever?

Have you tried with only clean tritium from the market in your inventory, so no mix with stolen or tagged tritium?

Not yet, I'll give it a go. I need to dump this lot and get back to the market station.

Though I did buy the 1 unit I had in my carrier stock before which looked clean...

Tried it with 3 tons (all the market had), I even got attacked by a pirate back at my FC as I docked (FC fried him in nanoseconds) so I know it's good stuff...

Anyway, it worked. So it seems they've mucked up the implementation of this new toggle, and having any stolen Tritium means it doesn't work as stated on screen.

I guess stealing tritium to fuel your own carrier is no longer an option.

I rinse the tritium I liberate from wing transportation missions through my secure storage, so it becomes clean for me (the FC owner). It reverts to stolen again if I sell it to other cmdrs' FCs.

There are other oddities going on like a "ghost" secure warehouse entry when selling mission Tritium to my FC.

Though it's for console not PC, this video (which I came across during my researches for solutions) is also interesting!

That's interesting as it isn't becoming clean for me after going through secure storage and me buying it back. I can't sell it to my commodity market or presumably any other. Perhaps because the mission is still active? I haven't finished emptying the mission depot yet. (I can only sell to my secure storage though, it won't let me sell the mission tritium as a clean commodity.)
I will cancel the mission when I have the last load aboard at the mission-giver station and see if it lets me donate any of the stolen tritium to my FC fuel depot then.

OK, cancelling the mission allowed me to actually donate the stolen tritium to my FC. Weird how you can't even donate legal, non-mission Tritium, though, while a mission is in progress, despite the legal/illegal toggle.

Hmm, no fine from the mission-giver, and 5000+ tons of tritium to sell or donate... seems like a good deal! It's no longer "stolen".

Yes, it is! Wing missions don't give fines, as long as you take all cargo from the source depot before you abandon them. If you're out of space, destroy it.
And the cargo is clean only for you, the FC owner. If you sell it to other commanders' FCs, the 'stolen' flag comes back.
Also, any mission cargo still on your ship when you abandon the mission, becomes stolen and can't be laundered.

I suspect th toggle is just for stolen tritium, and missions put a claim on all tritium to prevent accidentally mucking up a mission. Or it's just a bug.

I was about to say that mission tagged commodities are not exactly stolen while the mission is still active - so that switch would not apply in this scenario since the tritium was "mission" and not stolen

That's fine but (a) why couldn't I donate any other tritium - clean or stolen - from my own carrier's cargo hold into its fuel depot while the mission was active, and (b) why wouldn't we be able to donate mission tritium anyway? You can move it around in other places including the ship and carrier holds.

a) looks like a bug
b) maybe for the same reason that mission cargo cannot be leaked from your ship when being hatch breaked?

Well the bug is still there for legal tritium. Bought 500 and can't donate it to my carrier. And yes I have more than enough room in storage. It simply won't let me put in the amount I want to donate.

Nvrmind. I've been away from ED for a while and forgot that I could transfer the tritium via my inventory menu. Oh well!

Don't think you can do that, you really do need to donate what's in your hold. If you transfer it, it will only be in your carrier's cargo hold and not in your fuel tank.

Could it be that the UI is somewhat bugged, try some other method to enter the amount to donate, like keyboard, mouse, joystick, etc?

I have a full tank in the FC right now. I was wanting to stock some in cargo for later on. I just forgot about the transfer method. I’ve only had Odyssey for about a year so some parts of it are new to me. Thank you though for your response.

Apart from transfer, setting a buy order for Tritium will let you and anyone else who can dock there sell to the carriers cargo hold.

Mixing illegal and legal tritium in my Type-9 hold, while parked in my FC, led to a weird error message on the right-hand panel yesterday when I tried to transfer some more (legal) tritium in to my Type-9 from the commodity stock. It was like a little dialogue box on the panel with a red dollar sign. So I couldn't even get as far as donating to the depot.

Instead of transferring I therefore bought from the two markets. This allowed me to donate both types to the depot.
