Can't find appdata

So my map ain't working. Can't get the realistic view to work, can't get trading routes either. I can' t get orbit lines to work again. My ship can travel around 20 ly but the map draws no line more than 10 ly from the system i am in.

On the forums i go and see some folks talk about deleting a file from a thread c:/users/*yourname*/appdata......etc.

I can't find appdata nowhere, from the thread, even searched it in file finder, nothing.


So should i wait for a patch to fix this?

appdata is a hidden windows file, try this:

You may have to set Windows to 'show hidden files' to find that.

start->run type %localappdata% and hit enter
This will open an explorer window to that folder

If you just type %localappdata% into the search field in your start menu it should appear even if hidden.

TYVM all! My problem is fixed now.

I have realistic view now and orbit lines came back. I wrote %localappdata% in the start search engine and it gave me a file named "Local" . In this file was 2 files named "Frontier Development", one with a " _ " between the two words. I got into the 1st (without the " _ ") then was a file named "Elite Dangerous", then "Options". In this last file, there is a file named "Player" . I renamed it "Player123". I loaded the game and it was fixed.
