Can't find other players

Hi everyone!

I'm new to the game/forums. I've been playing for about a week now and haven't come across any other players. I've traveled from the starter system all the way to Cubeo and her surrounding systems. I've been bounty hunting. I figured I would have come across at least one person by now. Is this normal for most players?

I'll add that my NAT type is set at Moderate.

Thanks!

Sabre

Meeting random Cmdrs is more rare than most would like. It does happen, but it's not a regular thing due to the peer to peer networking system.

I tend to meet other folks when trading at popular systems but haven't done that in a while. This forum is a boon for in game contact though, just add a few GT's from around the forum and send a friend request over Xbox live with a quick message and your galaxy map will seem less empty. :)

Yeah I had the same problem. From what I've seen players are usually focused in certain areas (like in the neits system right now). Send me a friend request (MottledOrange59). I could always use backup while bounty hunting.

4 billion stellar bodies out there. Dozens of hundrets of systems in habitated buble... It's the Milky Way SabreWolfe19, humans are tiny, fragile part of the realm...;)

Meeting other CMDR's is a pretty rare thing. Space is big. Part of me quite likes that though, it makes the emptiness more acute and makes it more of an event when you do bump into someone. Especially as you never know if they are a friendly or not.
If you want to improve your chances head to Lave, Sol, community goals or power play headquarter systems.
It would be nice to have a few friendly meetings though. I've only ever met shoot on sight Peep's.

Was at Orang earlier this evening and there were about 6 or 7 cmdrs in and around the station, forget which one, but that was the most I've seen in one place.

You nat is best when open though, as moderate might still be affecting you instancing with other players.

Although, and dont take this the wrong way, you're not in solo are you? :p

Thanks! I'll send you one. I don't have a mic right now but I plan to get one ASAP. In currently exploring until I can outfit my Cobra MkIII.

Ah I see! That could be why.

Nah, definitely in open. 😂

How can you recognize other players when you do run into them?

They appear as hollow rectangles on your radar display and 'Cmdr' appears in front of their name if you target them... NPC's are solid rectangles, no 'Cmdr' prefix. Beware if either are triangles, it means they've deployed hardpoints :)

Thanks. That makes it easier to know who to be warry of. I was going off of what looks to be GTs under the pilot's name.

Most I've come across in the year I've been playing have been fairly friendly...most unfortunately don't know how to or simply don't bother to reply to a friendly '07' over the comms panel.

Look for messages in there in bright yellow, they're from other Cmdrs who've taken the time to say Hi... and ones from human pirates asking you to shut off your engines and drop cargo of course :)

Griefers and gankers don't usually send messages... always be aware of that hollow rectangle hanging around in supercruise and tries to get behind you, especially if there's no friendly message... chances are you've stumbled across someone with more guns than braincells..

I met my first CMDR last night. I was in my Vulture, he was in a T7.

I would have offered to provide a fighter escort, but he immediately jumped away :(

I've been playing on and off since the GPP last June, and never knew until now why some were triangles! :)
