Newcomer / Intro Cant find space station

I am currently playing the single player part of the game, however I am having a problem that is driving me insane- and I am sure that this will sound very stupid, but I cant see the damn space stations. I fly over to the spot where there are supposed to be a space station, only to fly past a little dot.


I was thinking that the dot might just be a beacon showing where the space station will be, however I have looked around for an embarrassing amount of time without finding anything.


But seeing as I cant find ANY guide about this, I guess it is just me being stupid. So can someone help me with what I am doing wrong, before I go "rage kid" and uninstall the game.

You need to be in supercruise and you need to drop out of supercruise facing the station within 1000km and at right speed. It sounds like you dropped early and flew in under normal engines. Was I close?

 

[Traceracing]

In the navigation panel (1), scroll down (e then sssss....) until the name of the spacestation is highlighted, Press space to select and s to lock. then press 1 to exit the navigation panel.

The on the left of the console, you will see a blue dot, align your ship to the dot is solid in the middle (if it's hollow turn 180 degrees) and you should see the spacestation name in front of you with the distance. Keep the speed in the blue zone and head towards it. Once you are within 1000km it will say "safe engage ready".. press j and you will exit supercruise around 9km from the station...
