Hi i have a x52 setup and am struggling to fire my missiles. I've set my pulse laser on fg1 and misslies on blue fg 2. The secondary fire is the red button under the safety flap but when I press it the hud seems to lock on but does nothing I've been through the tutorials and can't see where I'm going wrong any help would be appreciated.

Chances are you are flying a Cobra. If you look to where the hard points are mounted you cannot shoot above your horizen as you would be shooting through your own wing.

hmm that is odd then. Played that a few times but none since 1.1 may just have to give er a try.
By default the secondary fire is C, the flat button on the left. The safety button is normally to deploy hardpoints.
Check your profile is loaded if you have one and check the controls options as well as sometimes they reset after an update.
