Cant get bounties, need help

Hello there
So I'm following this guide on YouTube to gain early credits in game, it sais I have to camp at a beacon looking for wanted ships,
then I have to wait until they are under attack by local police, then fire at them for a while and see them die, then I'm suppose to get my bounty.
problem is, I did it, and didn't received any bounty
why? am I missing something?

Were you notified when the ship was destroyed that you received a bounty?

If yes you need to go to any in-system station to collect your blood money via the contact/local security board.

If you didn't get a notification you may not have got enough hits on the target to qualify.

I Believe one needs to get a hit on the ship within 10 seconds before it explodes to get the boounty or you will time out and get nothing.

You have to return to the local station and collect the bounty in the Contact tab of Starport Services - the cash does not just show up in your account.

After I fired at him, he boosted away so it took me a while to catch up with him.

There is a time limit but I'm not sure it's exactly 10 seconds but it's around that. We have all lost kills because of this limit but it's there so new players won't misuse the Bounty system.

The shield must also be down on the ship you fire at.

Res sites and High Res sites are the best for doing what you are doing so find one of those and follow the cops around and make millions. Don't go to Haz res sites (no cops) though. You find them at plantes with rings and you must be within 1000ls for them to show up on the sytem menu.
