Cant get my flight stick to work in VR

i just purchased the madcatz cyborg v.1 but cant get it to work properly. ive dowloaded all the drivers and the software for it, i cant assign macros in the software program but everytime i launch the game with the control default being a joystick, my ship just hovers in place doing back flips. anyone have an issue like this or a solution as to somthing i havent done. also, consdiering buying voice attack, seems realllllly awesome, anyone use it ?
