Can't get obelisk data

Do you mean the "Data Materials" that come from Obelisks, i.e "Pattern Alpha Obelisk Data", or Ram Tah's codex entries?

If you want the former, just scan them. If you want the latter, you need to have Ram Tah's mission active (you get it by going to <a station, I forget which one> in Meene.

Note there's two missions which need you to go to the two different types of site... if it's the one with 101 scan points, you need to go to "Ancient Ruins", if it's the one with 28-odd scan points, you need to go to "Guardian Structure"s

Position yourself so you can target lock them (sometimes using turret mode is required) and use the data scanner. Have confirmed it works fine with update 15, no bugs introduced (at least as far as the materials/scanning is involved - the glyphs are still a scrambled mess unless you use a time-lapse).

The first one, I scanned them multiple times but nothing

As you have not given us any information on what exactly you are doing can we just confirm the following:

You are just choosing obelisks that are glowing blue with ancient symbols on them?

You are scanning with your SRV's data scanner for Pattern Data (Alpha, Beta, Delta, Epsilon or Gamma)?

You've tried scanning using the Turret view as per Ned's suggestion?

If the answer to those questions is yes then I can only suggest trying a different site. I was at HIP 24007 1 b (Ancient Ruins close to the Bubble) on 10 May and successfully scanned the Obelisks there while I was picking up some Ancient Relics.

Are you target locking them, as Ned says? Need to get close enough to the active obelisk so that the selectable grey square appears on it, once you've selected that you can scan.

You have to be pretty close to the Obelisk to target it properly and scan it. It's approx 10 m and below...

Also, make sure you're using the data link scanner, not the composition scanner. Both work, but have different effects. Data link scanner takes more time than compisition scanner.

Yes I've been doing those i'll try another one thanks
