Newcomer / Intro Can't get past the very first training mission

What it looks like a bug, can't get me past the very first part of the training.
I just start a new game and I'm welcomed with this message

Can't do nothing apart from looking around the cockpit and going through the menus.
Am I doing something terribly stupid or missing something ?
I feel like I searched everywhere for a solution or someone that had the same issue.

Thanks in advance to anyone that will take concern

I think I shall have to redo that video since of course you now start at Coelho Station, not Mawson Dock.

Did you hit esc to exit the chat menu?

Looks like (almost) all controls mapped, and yes, as default.

Well I know I can skip the training.. I just wanted to do them..

As Igryck says, the dialogue is interrupted at the first message, when it actually should continue

I tried to verify all game files
Still stucked

I recommend exiting game. From the launcher, select Verify Game Files.
That will make sure all game files are current and fix any corrupted files.

I have this exact same problem, would love to know what the hell is causing this. Also really don't want to skip the training as EVERY PIECE OF ADVICE about the game is 'definitely do the training'. I assume it's probably some background nonsense relating to the 'always online' aspects of the game, and might just go away when everything finally lines up between Epic and Frontier?

Same problem for me. I just start to play Elite from Epic Launcher.

I just verify Game Files through Epic. No Change.

I see that this appears to be a bug probably introduced in today's "update" - lots of entries about it on the issue tracker e.g:

Just bought the game. An hour of searching brings me here. So I have to skip the tutorial?

Yes, chose standard keyboard mouse with yaw.

That training isn't essential. All it does is make sure that you have keys mapped to the essential functions and you know what ones they are. Millions of us started the game long before that training was introduced.

All you need to do is launch your ship and see if it works. If it doesn't, you can ask here. If it all goes wrong, you can do a reset and try again.

In the beginning, the buttons you need to check are:
Throttle forwards and backwards
FSD jump and super cruise
Target
Fire
Pitch, yaw and roll
Landing gear
Boost
Internal, external, comms and role panels.

The first thing to figure out as soon as you start travelling is how the FSS works, which isn't covered in the training

They’ll fix it soon, in meantime skip and fly blind - you can always go back to training from the menu at a later time if I recall correctly?

That's what I did :)
I went through the first mission then did a couple as a carrier
