Cant get started empire rank.

Been doing empire missions all day today. I'm not having any luck. Apparently i'm suppose to take a specific mission to deliver some weapons to get started? Yeah i haven't seen it all day. I'm about to throw in the towel...How vague the job board is made is beyond stupid.

I jest, and have no idea, I know a couple of guys having a nightmare just trying to rank up to get a Courier.

I got one day where I had two missions in a row, got outsider then serf, and that was weeks ago and have seen nothing since. My federation rank stopped climbing over a month ago when I got CPO.

Perhaps if the game was designed a little better it wouldnt feel broken like it does now. Honestly i feel like the story line should be renamed 1950s technology with hyper space magic.

The best way to increase rep, is to do the 'mercy' type missions - the ones that don't pay you anything.

Usually food, medicines or non-lethals.

Also the 'fix our station' type are good too, as long as you can afford it!

A few of those will usually trigger a 'rank progression mission'

Obviously, ideally you need to be at an Empire station in an empire controlled system

The entire rank system seems screwed up since 1.3.06. Started Empire rank climb a week before 1.3.06 and got to Squire. After 1.3.06 patch kick in last week, I have not seen a single ascension mission, even unavailable missions are missing.

I noticed that missions from imperial navy appears on independent outposts in empire controlled systems, simply try to not go to station owned by empire minor faction go to outpost owned by independent minor faction of that system. I went 2 ranks up recently, also dont stick to particular systems take a tour around empire
