Can't launch game because game wont update

As per title. I've clicked on update and it's been sitting there on 'Preparing for update' now for over 30mins. What gives?

The update process seems to scan the installed files before updating - which can take a while for c.50GB.

If you're on a slower computer, just wait. If you aren't: Close the launcher, clear your browser cache, and try again. That has helped some with past updates.
