Can't launch game

I purchased the game a while back, but just downloaded/launched it for the first time tonight. I played it previously on Xbox One, and had bought the Commander Deluxe edition for PC. I used my Frontier account I created for Xbox to login, and received the verification code, but when I enter it it takes me back to the login screen and says that I need to purchase the game to continue. I have tried about ten different times with ten different codes and it displays the same error message each time.

I can't open a support ticket with Frontier because it requires an FID, which I cannot access because I can't even launch the game. Any help is appreciated!
 
You can't mix accounts from different platforms. You may need a new email for your PC version...but I'm not 100% on that since I only have one account.
 
I bought Elite Dangerous with Horizons on Steam (PC) recently, but I have the same problem. When I try to start the game, I have to login, receive a code through email, type it in but receive a warning telling me to purchase the game again. There seems to be some communication issue between Steam and Frontier.

BTW: some time ago I also bought Elite Version for PS4.

Actually, now I remember purchasing Elite Dangerous on Steam a few years ago but it didn't work on the system I had back then. I forgot that and bought it again. Apparently, I have to buy it on PC a third time before I can play.

@Mitchellangelo and @Perspicuon - you should find those two will sort you out. Otherwise raise a support ticket, particularly if you bought using Humblebumbag as there was a problem with those codes.
 
I did raise a support ticket. BTW, I launched the game through steam launcher every time. It just opens a login page with no options to login with a Steam account; just "LOG IN". "CREATE NEW ACCOUNT" and "PLAY DEMO". The "LOG IN" button leads to what I've described before. No suggestion that I read so far worked. Anyway, I hope they contact me to resolve the ticket.

For the first link, that doesn't work. Step 1 explains clicking Options > Log Out Machine. I click on Options, but there is no Log Out Machine option. In fact, I have considerably less options than detailed in the screenshot.

For the second link, that also does not work. Step 1 explains to us Link Account instead of Existing Account. However, I have no idea how to launch with the Steam launcher. I click Play and the Elite launcher comes up. There's no option to launch a different way as far as I can see.

Your link just takes me to the home support page. As far as needing a Frontier account to open a ticket, yes, you do need one. When I click Create Ticket after filling in the issue information, it takes me to an expanded page that has other fields that are required to be filled in before opening the ticket, including FID. Which I can't get to, because it's on the main menu of the game, and I can't even launch the game.

Thanks for letting me know, that explains it. However, I really want to use the email address associated with this frontier account for my new one (I don't care about losing my data from my frontier account that I used for the Xbox version, so deleting it is not a problem). Do you know of a way to delete my Frontier account entirely so I can create a new one with the same email address?
