Can't leave planet

I can't log in to the Support site either. I click the link, but it never gives me a login screen.

I'm stuck and cannot leave the planet. I'm flying, but even when I'm aligned with the escape vector, the game tells me I still need to be aligned, therefore I cannot enter super cruise and leave the planet.

Has anyone else seen this?

I'll try running non-Horizons Elite, which should put me in orbit. This is an immersion killer. Also, because I could never successfully align with the escape vector, I kept overheating and had to use a couple of heat sinks. What a pain.

The "align with escape vector" prompt is a bit misleading in this case.
When leaving planet, your velocity vector needs to point more than 45° up from the horizontal and your ship's nose needs to point roughly to the direction of travel when supercruise engages. Escape vector marker is straight up.
Of course, if you point your ship straight up, full throttle and have positive number in your speedometer, you should be aligned with the escape vector too and supercruise should engage. If in doubt, boost.

Weight has a big factor in trying to launch from a planet. Though one generally doesn't have an issue from stations in space; If you happen to thrusters that are too small and you have an over abundance of cargo. It can be very tough to get off from the planet without over heating and in some cases not at all.

I'm aligned with the escape vector, the game tells me I still need to be aligned,

One thing to note, where your nose is pointing is not necessarily the direction of travel. Both the ships nose and direction of travel will need to be aligned with the escape vector for you to enter super cruise off the planet.

I'm in supercruise nowhere near a planet and same thing! Align with escape vector.. and I've got 1100k hours on here, don't tell me how to fly, this patch broke my ship

The vector's all seem to be off, some more than other's. Same with the holo gram of the station on the HUD. It's off by at least 90 degree's.

Occasionally I've had that problem too. Boosting seems to help.

This may have nothing to do with the problem you are experiencing, but here are my launch steps from a planet that work well for everything from a Sidewinder to a Cutter;

1. NEVER select a destination or target before launching.
2. Hit auto launch and let it rise to where it kicks off.
3. Throttle to 50% and move your ship into a 90 degree angle.
4. Go to full throttle once the 90 degree angle is reached. Then hit boost.
5. You should be out of mass lock at this point so go into super cruise. Only then will the 'escape vector' appear in your HUD and you won't have to move/steer your ship into it at all.
6. Once you're completely out of the gravity well you can select your destination and jump to it.

Good luck.

Hey, just for anybody else that may be surfing forums trying to figure out this issue in the future, I fixed this problem by landing at the port I was stuck at, entering the hangar, quitting to desktop, validating the game files, then relaunching the game in single player. I was able to leave as normal after doing this.

Or, skip all those steps, log out to the launcher, start vanilla Elite Dangerous and log into any mode, you'll find yourself in orbit.

Repeat the steps to get back to Horizons (you'll still be in orbit)

May not be the issue, but I remember as a noob player having a basic T6, landing on a plant and filling my cargo to the max. And when attempting to lift off, was not able because though my cores were sufficient enough to leave a space station, they were insufficent to deal with the gravity of the planet or moon I was attempting to leave. And had to abandon some of my cargo, before I was able to do so.
Making some money and upgrading my cores, the issue was resolved.
