i had the link your steam account/cant login error and i was able to get it fixed
i had already linked my steam account but, the game would not launch so......
~ i checked my email and i had a confirmation code, it did not work but, when i checked my email again, there was another confirmation code ... i had to do it 5 times for the new code to work( i kept getting error but, a new email showed up with every error till it worked
~ once i was verified i was getting a msvcp140.dll error ... so, i reinstalled the c+++ 2015 redist file here:

~ restarted pc
~ now when hitting play i got a vcruntime140.dll error .... so, i went to control panel and selected programs and features ... i clicked on the micrsoft visual c++ redistributable 2015 and selected repair option(not uninstall)
~ after restarting pc from repairing the c++ 2015 file the game worked fine
researching abit too in the ed bug forum and the c++ redist file and the 2 error seem to be a common issue with updates --- the updates break the visual/runtime c++ files for some reason ... something ed needs to figure out
