Can't login to Elite on my new PS5

Got a PS5 but trying to login. It spins and ends with;

LOGIN FAILURE

The game failed to communicate with the authentication server.

It's the only game I've encountered this. I waited the whole day thinking it might be downtime or something but.. I don't know.

Any idea?

Hmmm not sure. I was playing yesterday with no problems on PS5 but, not as late as you have posted. There might have been some network issue?

Have you played on PS4 before and already setup an account in the game? Is it the same account?

When I moved over from PS4 I transferred the game to an external drive from the Pro and Elite just launched no issues.

Aye, hundreds of hours on PC and maybe 50 hours on my PS4. Never an issue. I did not transfer my game from PS4 though. Just downloaded fresh copy. May be part of the issue? Have not tried this morning as I'm at work. I will check again and follow up. Thanks for the reply.

It shouldn't have mattered really I would have thought but, you will lose all your controller binds etc. Unless you have PS+ to download your cloud save.

I have had PS5 crashes which have wiped my local data but, still allowed me to log in.

If it's still not working today. Submit a ticket for FDev to look at your account.
