can't make money. stuck.should I recreate?

So I started with my side winder. Bought a fuel scoop and went on merry way. Had to sacrifice cargo for scoop. After running around I dock. 600 credits repair . that leaves me with 86 credits and 0 cargo space.

I can't sell anything but scoop as everything is loaned. I can't do any bounties because I have no cargo. I can't mine or trade as I have no cargo. I've tried combat bounties but I keep getting blown up almost and have to fsd away.

Edit: I guess I could sell my cartographic information for a few thousand to get back on my feet and get some cargo space..?

Or should I recreate and start again

Sell your cartographic, and your fuel scoop unless you plan on going distance.

Then kit your ship and go scouting round USS in a system. Make a few more k killing wanted sidewinders and eagles. You'll be back on your feet in no time!

Step one, don't listen to this guy... Obvious troll is obvious.

Then, yeah, sell off the scoop, sell your discovery data, get a cargo hold and run bullatain board missions, you'll be on your way.

You quit playing and yet you still hang around the forums attempting to persuade others to quit to. Are you trying to vindicate your decision or something? Maybe you feel you've thrown the towel in too early and need to reassure yourself that's not the case by gaining more converts.

To the OP, don't give up. You don't need cargo space to go bounty hunting. Find a system with a resource extraction site and take on wanter criminals flying Sidewinders. Get some cash and buy some cargo space then do some courier missions if combat isn't your forté. After a few hours you'll be earning 5-10k per courier job and can start outfitting your sidey a bit more.

Dont listen to negative nancy mate. Do what was said: go to USS'es. Find those with cargo floating around wrecked ships. Pick em up, boost your way into a station (to not get scanned by the cops - go fast through the gate from a couple km's out) with black market and sell it. Go out again and search USS'es around the black market base. If you are up to it you can also take out wanteds in the USS'es when you see them. That leaves you with 2 ways of getting credits back. When you done a couple of wanteds your rep will go up and more missions with higher pay will come.

This does not take long. A little bit of work and you will be back full force. :)

You can get back on your feet scanning systems with the basic scanner easy. Best money is in scanning inhabited systems, so open your map and look for systems for which you have no data but show as having an economy.

Wish we could group up and search some USS'es together. Not sure you can go into a USS with a friend? Would be a bit funnier. :) Nice of @Papa though to help out. I have no cargo unfortunately and im hunting USS'es myself hehe.

Unless you want to submit to the discipline of suffering what fate throws at you, I'd suggest restart witha clean slate and a shiney new Sidey. Then just do missions for a while, legal ones, and make a bit of money. Use the money to extend your cargo capacity, either in the Sidey or save up for a Hauler.

For now, forget combat, forget mining. Just run missions to make some money. The first thing you should spend that money on is ways of making more money, and faster. Sidey to start, grind missions, then sell it and buy a Hauler, grind missions and do a bit of trading, then sell that and buy a Cobra, grind more missions and more trading and practice some comabt, and then consider adding a Lakon 6 truck to your stable (i.e., keep the Cobra). Use the Lakon 6 for bigger transports - you can extend the cargo space to 104ton easily, and there-and-back runs can still net you 150-200kCr at a time, so you can recoup its 1mCr cost back in an hour or so. Then use the truck to finance your fun in the Cobra :)

Sell the cartographic data. I found in the sidey it's the best way to make money and I started with 100cr rather than the 1000cr you get now.

If you're lucky there is an Outpost within the system that has a Black Market. If so, trade Stolen good there as you'll be far less likely to get scanned. Run any mission you can, even if it's a document delivery for a couple hundred credits. You can recover. And remember, you started with barely a pittance, so it shouldn't take long to remake it.
