Can't pay my fine

So I shot a bot on a planet, and got me a whooping fine of 175cr. Going to the only port (of 5) that says I'm wanted to pay it, but inside the port I get no option to pay it.
Tried two of the other ports (which don't say I'm wanted), but could not pay there either.

How can I pay it?
175 cr is nothing, but enough to get you killed..

If you go to the transactions tab, check the bounty. It may be on a timer, or it may say "On H-Jump", in which case you need to jump out of the system to clear it, then when you come back you should be able to pay it off.

The reason you can't pay it is because it's a bounty, not a fine. Fines can be paid off immediately, bounties have a timer. The higher the bounty, the longer the timer.

175 creds shouldn't be more than 10 minutes. Jump out of the system, do something else for a bit, then come back. At that point you can pay it off without getting shot by the authorities.

I have a 6000 bounty for murder (some dude crashed into the back of my ship in a res) and yes there is a countdown timer with a few days left. I've left the system and been back twice and can't pay it.
So are you saying after the timer expires I can go back and pay it off? Will I be harassed when I enter the system? Is there another timer (after the current one) I need to be concerned about?

(They don't hand out bounties unless you've hit them with considerable fire. You're a no-good murderer, you are. ;)

Ouch.. ummm! I swear I'm innocent!!! Visited the system again today 1day and 10hours until something happens. Still can't pay it.

Yes, once the timer expires, you will be able to go back into the system and pay it off, it will be marked as "On H-Jump". You will no longer be wanted, so you will not be harassed, the bounty becomes a legacy fine (and will disappear from your transactions tab), but going to the contacts section in starport services will enable you to pay the fine off.

You don't have to pay off legacy fines, but if you are destroyed and re-spawn in that system the fine will be added to your re-buy cost if you do not.
