Can't Play My Premium Beta :(

So I downloaded my Premium Beta, and got it all installed, but on launch it goes full screen and crashes. I went through the log files but they are empty, and tried also directly changing config options using notepad which didn't make a difference. Wasn't familiar enough with the graphicsconfig xml file to mess around with it too much.

Computer configuration:
EVGA Z87 Classified Motherboard
i7 4770K 3.5GHz
16GB RAM
500GB SSD (installed it on this drive)
Nvidia GeForce GTX TITAN

I guess I'm just wondering if there are any known fixes, and posted a new thread because the search option on these forums isn't bringing anything up at all. I backed extra specifically for the ability to play this premium beta, so it's pretty frustrating to not be able to enjoy what I had backed for.
 
At least you can download it! I can't even get that far. Pretty p!ssed off right now if I'm honest as £100 is a lot for me to shell out and to get no help over the weekend is not a good thing as things still happen on weekends...
 
At which part of the launch you get CTD?

Starting Launcher?

After Logging in (hitting the PLAY button)?

After seeing text FRONTIER in front of a planet?

After seeing Elite: Dangerous logo?

First up - try a re-install see if you have a corrupted file. Reboot before running.

Next, the Yaffle cup of tea method, launch, press play, leave, make a cup of tea. For some reason on my machine it takes 5 minutes to load. Black screen, appears as "not responding" in task manager. Eventually comes back.
 
Before playing around with the config files, make a backup copy. That way you know you'll always be able to revert back to the default.

cant u download the 123mb launcher or cant the launcher download the game.

if we aree supposed to help we need as many infos you can give. the more u give the more likely u get help..
 
There is noting in my account page! It thinks I haven't paid £100 which my bank most certainly thinks has happened!

I have an email at least so I can prove I have paid it or this would be making me even angrier than i already am. No support on weekends is inexcusable in 2014 if they are going to allow sales on the weekends, hell even the email says to email support with any problems and nothing saying 'except for weekends as we aren't here!'.

If I'd paid £30 for a game I could let it slide but I'm paying a premium price, £100 and who knows when I'll get an answer...

Or under the "My Downloadable Products" link on the top left?

We can't help much here from the forums other than offering you some sympathy and good feelings after checking, which is cold comfort, I know.

Unfortunately, it sounds like something went awry with the transaction. It's cold comfort, but rest assured that this is something the support people will be right onto come Monday morning.
 
hm i paid with paypal and could download it instantly. And it worked flawlessly - had to update trackIR though, but thats not the games fault..

in fact for a beta it was a pretty smooth transaction / installation!

I heard when you pay via bank transfer it takes some hours and maybe doesnt work on weekends - thats the reason I always pay via paypal...

I'm not trolling, just emphasizing the fact some level of support should exist everyday at this price point. I was about 2 seconds from clicking the purchase button for the beta premium when my Twitter feed started showing comments of ed off customers having this same issue - $150 and hours later had nothing to show for it. Others were having no luck getting the game to work and instead of getting relief they were quoting some notification about no support on weekends. Granted it's a beta but really?

Don't allow sales on weekends if you can't afford support staff!

Yes you are right, but to be honest I'm in no hurry. I have both betas because it was in my commitment. But it was not that which interested me in the kickstarter.

Tried all this already, thank you though!

Before playing around with the config files, make a backup copy. That way you know you'll always be able to revert back to the default.

I figure I'll just reinstall a 4th time if anything gets seriously messed up, it only takes 10 mins or so, so I'm not overly worried about having to reinstall. :p
 
what vga what driver? beta driver?
screen capture sw like fraps obs?

everything okay with video codecs on ur pc?

virus scanner?

do other games run?

Are you sure you are longing into the right account, the right email address. It should be in the list.
