Ok so I have been trying to back this project for the last two days and it will not take my card. My card works just fine and I can back other projects but when i try to pledge for this one it keeps telling me my card was declined. Anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it?

When you make a pledge the CC company does not take the money but reserves it - perhaps you are at your limit ?

I don't really know what the cause of this would be. As mentioned, it is most likely either an error with Kickstarter or your Bank. I'll see if I can find anything out for you, but the best bet would be to contact your bank or Kickstarter.

Thanks for looking into it, I dont think its a problem with my CC comapany because after it failed with elite I went and pledged at star citizen and it worked. I am in America and not in UK so can that have something to do with it? Is there any other way to pledge like through amazon payment s or anything like that?
Hey I still cant pledge. I checked to see if it was my card but I was able to pledge on another kickstarter but they used amazon payments and that words just fine. I have also bought some games off of steam and it works just fine.
On top of that I used another credit card and the same thing happened. I dont think its my car because the first one was my debit card while the second was my credit card. Is there a way to use another payment method for pledging like amazon payments?

Looks like you need to contact your bank to find out there could be some kind of security bar on it. Amazon payments is not available for this KS unfortunately and nor is Paypal.
Either way let us know how you go though.
What's the expiration date of your current cc? If it's 12/12, then you won't be able to back it since the payment for this is due January next year, but you'll be able to back any projects that are due this year.
Don't know if this is your issue, but this is my current situation - both my ccs expire 12/12 so I won't be able to make my pledge until I receive my new cards (with a new exp date) at the beginning of December. It puzzled me for a while because it doesn't explain that this is the reason why you can't pledge - it just won't accept your cc.

it expires in 2013 so I dont think that is it. I will call my bank and see if that will work but im sure it will if both my bank debit card and my credit card dont work on this kickstarter.
I had that problem at first - it doesn't even let you click the Pledge button - it highlights the problematic expiry date in red. I was able to use another card.

This may be the issue. Banks regularly flag and block international payments, as a pre-emptive security measure. If you phone them I'm sure they'll be able to sort it out for you.

OK I would like to thank Ashley Barley for her suggestion, I notified my bank and they let me know that it had been flagged and all is well now. I just pledged and I am super excited for this and Star Citizen to release.
