Horizons Can't see any advantage to being a local Faction member anymore?.

I am a long standing member of a local faction which either controls or has a major influence in 11 nearby systems. Now I am not interested in combat per se so being a wing member is not anything I am particularly interested in. I am mostly interested in trading/exploration and mining. It was mining that brought me to my preferred home base in the first place as we have a pristine metallic ring on our doorstep. When I got bored with one thing I would rig out my ship for another and in the period up to the v2.0 upgrade I was doing a lot of delivery and data missions in my then ship, a Python, for the faction of which I am a member.

Now even then I don't think it worked properly as I would have expected to get gradually better and better missions the more I completed. I don't believe they ever really worked in that way, for me it seemed that the amount/value/type/and number of missions generated was more random than because I was a valuable member in good standing. But in its way it did "work" a little bit and usually I did get a pretty valuable assignment, usually a long distance trip with data/cargo or both which paid between 750kcr - 2.5mcr, also it was kinda nice when occasionally you would get a greeting of "welcome cmdr, an ally such as you is always welcome here" at one of our stations/bases so I stayed loyal never took jobs from other factions, delivered all my exploration data to home base and adhered to our faction rules.

Since the upgrades from v2.0 - v2.2 there just aren't any suitable missions available any more from my faction other than black box data recovery, assassination jobs or reduce the prison population ones and for someone who isn't interested in combat or murder I can't see any advantage in being a local faction member anymore. I mean you don't even get a welcome cmdr message anymore. It seems to me that there is no difference in whether I am a member or a first time visitor who has looked at the mission board in passing through. Today on seeing just 1/1 mission on offer for me from my faction leader, a 1.5mcr assassination job which I declined I decided to look for the first time in a long while at what the other factions here were offering in the way of missions and blimey there were lots of the types of missions I was looking for but if I accept them I am going against the rules of my faction. So what is the point of them anymore, does anyone else think that if you don't get a bit of notice from your faction that it isn't really worth being a member and that there is no point in them at all anymore?.
