Can't see fid. Can't change TV settings.

Pretty much self explanatory.

There aren't any suitable settings on my tv or xbox to reveal the fid.

How else am I supposed to get it?

Do you happen to have a Vizio or a Sharp tv?

We had a TV with this problem in our house and one on a vacation. Later learned it was the TV manufacturer and we could resolve it. Hope you can fix your situation.

Check your TV manual for information about how to set the resolution of the screen to ' fit to screen'.

I used to have mine set to 16:9 but i had the same issue as you i could not see the FID/version number (also couldn't see the right side of the HUD in a Type 7). Changing the display to 'fit to screen' solves it.

Yeah there’s no setting for that. The only settings are 4:3, 16:9, zoom 1 & 2 and none of those fit.

In the menus there’s no option to adjust the sizes or overscan anywhere and the remotes like a useless brick.

maybe type your TVs make n model into Google with "fit picture to screen size" or somesuch might pull up the info you need.

You may not like this...

I had a 32" Samsung LCD TV which was old, really old, and it did not have the option to 'fit to screen' so when using the Xbox 360 for games that did not allow you to set the visible area was interesting to say the least. I solved the problem by buying a new TV <-- the bit you may not like :D

Well this is the only game I’ve had the problem on and even then I can see the top of each character just not enough to know what they are.

It must be like 90% of the line of text is cut off. Everything else is visible so I can play the game fine.
