Cant seem to find any federal navy missions to rank up...help?

Im 100% with the federation, been stuck at petty officer for years now and still cant find a federal navy mission to rank up...

im friendly with a system called chamunda, nearly allied but cant even find one there. I may be missing something? any help guys?

or know of any definite stations where there is federal navy missions.?

Anyway....Rank up missions are no longer labeled "ascension opportunity"

Easiest way to get one is to go to a fed/empire system where you are allied with the minor factions and mode switch. Whether you agree with mode switching or not, its the best way to get your rank mission.

Right now any rank up mission will simple be lableled with the prefix "federal navy" or "imperial navy". For example - Imperial Navy supply run.

Keep doing fed missions until one appears.

It's possible that the interface is showing you 100% by rounding up, whereas your real progression may actually be only 99.5x% and not eligibile for a rank up yet.

[up] For a FED rank-up mission you must go to a port where you are at least cordial or friendly with Federation-aligned LOCAL factions (look for the Federation sigil next to their names in the Mission Boards). These are the factions that will offer the Naval missions. Ignore the other factions for now, they are distractions and a time-sink. If you are not friendly with at least one FED-aligned local faction at a port, run doody missions for them until you are friendly with them and the mission will eventually show up. Look for the mission with either the word NAVY or the word NAVAL in the mission title. That will be your rank-up mission. Do not stack it with other missions, just saying. If it is not showing up, don't worry, any further progress you are making is being automatically added to your next rank.

I used Haller City, Barnard's (don't forget the apostrophe) Star. Terrestrial port, large ship friendly, several local, FED-aligned factions handing out cargo & data delivery missions to the next-door system (with 3 large-ship-friendly stations), Epsilon Indi. Mission availability varies with system state but I had no problems stacking my 20 on almost every lap.

Honestly your stuck at the mercy of the RNG with the rank up missions you have a better overall chance for them to show up in an allied system, but in short their is no sure fire way to get the mission to show up. When i was grinding for my cutter i found the empire rank missions in abundance. However during my current fed grind for a corvette i have had a heck of a time finding them just this morning i spent what felt like 2 hours trying to find one even at my allied factions until i finally found my promotion to post captain so thankful only one rank to go. but i wish you luck in you search commander.

Stick with allied factions.

Maybe I've been lucky, but I've never really had a problem finding rank up missions. At least after I knew what they were worded like.

It's also been acknowledged multiple times that the Naval rank missions aren't necessarily appearing as often as they are supposed to. I'm guessing it's likely been fixed in 2.3.

They are def still there, I've been doing Fed and Imperial rank stuff over the last couple of weeks, always see a rank up mission eventually (as per what everyone else has already said, friendly systems etc etc).

i have been waiting now for a week for a rankup mission - im 54% lieutenant commander ... should have had one by now .

I've never seen a real sticking point myself. A wait, a grind with factions, and then, what felt like a stroke of luck. Except that the strokes of luck are moderately consistent.
As Jetson says your relationship with a local minor faction really does help. In fact I've found that running missions between/around a couple of factions' sphere of influence helps immeasureably.
Also, Be very observant as to mission details. MANY ranking missions don't seem like they come from the navy etc.
Just my thoughts.

simple really , dont accuse me of trolling ... just read most click bait threads here already . I have in the past had several rank up mission less than 54% thru a rank ... actually if past experiences are anything to go by , im at least 2 such missions missing already . But i guess ill just add you to the list .

No, rank up missions only come once you get to 100% and if you had one halfway through then I'd love a screenshot of that
