Can't sell slaves?!

I accepted a mission to deliver 2 slaves to an outpost, cos I knew of a nearby outpost that had 'em. Nipped along and saw they had 4, so I bought them as a job lot. Got back and delivered the contracted goods, and so had two left. Had a look in the outpost's commodities, and it seems they did buy slaves. but when I clicked the line, the yellow box on the right said "No transaction". The RH Commodities panel says I have 2 items in cargo, and the RH UI panel agrees and says they are slaves. So I went along to the next outpost hoping they might want them. Sure enough, they had slaves on the list of Commodities, but again "No transaction". So I logged out and in again, but no dice.

Is this a bug?

No, just kidding. If you want to sell non-imperial slaves, you have to dump them on black market, no "official" trader in non-anarchy system will touch that cargo. Some stations even prohibit it.

No BM at the outpost. There are BMs at starports nearby, but the Galaxy map says slaves are prohibited goods there -- won't I get fried when I approach the letterbos?

I see -- I can't remember if the outpost that sold them to me had them listed as "Non-imperial" or just as "Slaves".

Sounds like I should just dump them?

I've dumped a few slaves for the same reason, more trouble than they're worth lol

Switch between Open and Solo modes while docked on this outpost. You will likely get another mission to deliver slaves and they pay twice the market price. BTW, are you sure this outpost is not prohibiting slaves as well? What system is it? It would be the perfect place to camp once they fix the hole where you can somethimes buy slaves and find those missions on the same outpost :)
