Can't store ship with some cargo. Why?

I trade rarities, fly on the big route buy and sell depending on the distance of the star system. This is an exceptionally large circle with a diameter of more than 250 light years. My holds are never empty. To trade well, but bounty hunting is good too. However, I can't buy a second ship to perform combat missions, because my transport, loaded with rarities I can't put in the garage. And the cargo can not sell, because most of it is designed for distant star systems. Why do we need such a restriction in the freedom of choice of players what to do?

Sorry for Yandex english.

I think it is a good point. It seems sort of silly. But I'm hoping that the multiple ship ownership will be fleshed a bit out with transporting ships etc. But who knows, it might be part of the "grand vision" etc.

I agree, I can't think of a lore reason why you can't store a ship in a hangar with cargo. It's not like it makes the ship any larger, and I doubt a station would have an issue with tonnage. Best I can come up with is maybe some stock would degrade over time, but that doesn't really apply with most of them.

It's clearly a current engine limitation - they haven't found a way to store that *information* reliably. And I suspect, given that the X series never had this problem, that it has something to do with the multiplayer aspects of the game - that everything has be communicated to the server.

Sadly, and contrary to Frontier's comments on the loss of offline mode, there are some things that are just waaaaay easier to do in singleplayer.

That being said, I'm sure they'll figure it out eventually.

This question comes up every few days. I believe the devs have said you can't store a ship with cargo to prevent people hording cargo

Ok, if i can't put my ship with cargo in the hangar, why i can't hold my cargo to the station's warehouse for a price?

This, it is by design and working as intended.
I would like the ability to store ship modules though so I don't have to have multiple ships to do different tasks.
Let me refit equipment I have already purchased, would mind if they took up a cargo slot or two as opposed to station storage

in Eve online, I had a massive collection of junk. Might even still be there.

I had mines from a time before mines were removed from the game. I had snowball launchers from two Christmasses previously. I had all kinds of interesting junk, bookmarks, guns and useless crap from long-since-ended story events.

It was awesome.
